SYNOPSIS
This module builds up a fundamental background of the principles of physics. The unit focuses on Newton’s mechanics, electrostatics, and electrodynamics. The principles of thermal physics and magnetism are also introduced.

All assessments for the qualification are intended to allow candidates to demonstrate they have met the relevant Learning Outcomes. An examination is a time-constrained assessment that will take place on a specified date, usually in an NCC Education Center. An assignment requires candidates to produce a written response to a set of one or more tasks, meeting a deadline imposed by the center.
The overall unit mark is computed from the weighted mean of its components. The pass mark for a unit is 40%.
