
OVERVIEW
The AUS's Certificate of English Language Proficiency in Intensive English (CLEP Intensive English) is an undergraduate certificate that provides official recognition for those whose primary language is not English and who demonstrate the English proficiency needed for academic work at the university level or professional career at the executive level through their studies in the English language program. This corresponds to a minimum B2: Independent User level on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Students who complete the certificate will be able to express themselves fluently and spontaneously without hesitation; will use English effectively for social, academic, and professional purposes; and will produce clear, well-structured texts on a variety of subjects showing controlled use of various organizational patterns, connectors, and cohesive devices.

ADMISSIONS CRITERIA
1. All applicants must demonstrate sufficient English language proficiency by:
Earning the AUS's EPASS score of at least 22.5%; or
Demonstrating an ability to communicate in English that is at least at English level B1 in the Common European Framework of Reference.
Points (1) must be satisfied before an unconditional offer can be made.
