HISTORY AND PHILOSOPHY

A shared pursuit drives the AUS community: in fidelity to the Catholic faith and the wisdom of God, to nurture and advance the sciences and bring about a proliferation of wisdom that will transform humanity and lead to a more peaceful and unified world in which future generations will not suffer the sorrows of the past and present.

Established in September 2021 in Hawaii, the United States of America, as a post-secondary degree-granting institution, AUS is dedicated to fostering a scientific and innovative approach to education and research, advancing equality of opportunity in education, and encouraging the pursuit of knowledge. AUS believes that nothing is insurmountable for humankind, that the majority of problems can be solved by science, technology, and wisdom, and that an innovative approach to problem solving invariably results in better outcomes. The scientific method, which AUS wholeheartedly embraces, guides thinking, learning, solving problems, and making informed decisions. AUS acknowledges that these abilities are integral to every aspect of a student’s life, from university to career. To succeed, AUS believes individuals need to be scientifically literate in an increasingly technologically and scientifically advanced world.

AUS is truly global. The AUS community is a magnet for talent worldwide. AUS brings together exceptional individuals from a variety of places in the world to advance human potential and redefine the boundaries of knowledge. Students who study with AUS are encouraged to reflect on how they might be able to have a positive impact on our world in addition to achieving their personal goals.

THE HEADQUARTERS IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

The headquarters of AUS is in Honolulu, Hawaii, United States of America. Honolulu, Hawaii's capital and principal port, is a modern city extending about 10 miles along the southeastern shore of Oahu Island and 4 miles inland across a plain into the foothills of the Koolau Range. It is the crossroads of trans-Pacific shipping and air routes, the focus of interisland services, and the commercial and industrial center of the state. It is administered as a single entity and has about 80 percent of the state’s population. Honolulu combines tropical glamour and buzzing international metropolises, where sandy shores meet city streets. Honolulu is the educational nucleus of the state.

THE BRANCH CAMPUS IN VIETNAM

In 2022, AUS opened the first branch campus, the St. Thomas Aquinas Campus (STAC), in the central district of Ho Chi Minh City which is not just the biggest city in Vietnam but also its economic center. With its regional location as a hub in Southeast Asia, its airport, harbor, and the intersection of main roads, the metropolis is well connected within the domestic and the most important international markets.
